Krista DuChene, also known as Canada's marathon mom, is the second fastest Canadian marathoner in history! She earned this title after her outstanding performance at the 2013 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, finishing with a time of 2:28:32. Krista is also the 2010 and 2016 National marathon champion and represented Canada at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Krista grew up on a farm in Southern Ontario, where she was involved in just about every sport and activity. At a young age she picked up hockey and played throughout high school and University. After achieving a degree in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph and becoming a Registered dietician, Krista made a return to running. She competed in her first marathon in 2002 and has continually lowered her time to compete at the elite level. Krista currently lives in Brantford, ON with her husband and three children.
